DISTRIBUTION: This species is fairly common throughout the United Kingdom.

 

LENGTH: 8mm to 12mm.                                                               STATUS: Resident.    

    

FLIGHT PERIOD: Adult beetles are around in May and June.

 

LARVAL PERIOD: Larvae hatch from eggs in June or July and over winter before pupating in the following spring.

 

HABITAT: Grass lands, grass verges, and lawns in parks and gardens.

 

FOOD PLANT/S: The adult beetles chew leaves, and the larvae feed on the roots of grasses.
