DISTRIBUTION: This species is one of many in the group known as 'Weevil Beetles'. They are common throughout England into southern Scotland.

 

LENGTH: 8mm to 12mm.                                                                       STATUS: Resident.

 

FLIGHT PERIOD: Late April, or early May through into October.  

            

LARVAL PERIOD: No data.

 

HABITAT: Adult beetles of this species inhabit farm land, rural area's and suburban gardens where there is plenty of tree's, shrubs, herbaceous and potted plants.

 

FOOD PLANT/S: These beetles feed the roots of many different plants, included potted plants. They are often a pest in gardens.
