DISTRIBUTION: This weevil is widespread and fairly common throughout most of the British Isles.

 

LENGTH: 6mm to 8mm..                                STATUS: Resident.

 

FLIGHT PERIOD: From April through summer, and into the autumn months of the year  

LARVAL PERIOD: The grubs are around from summer through to spring of the following year. They feed on the roots of various grasses, and pupate under ground in the spring.

 

HABITAT: Most places where there are broad-leaved deciduous trees.

FOOD PLANT/S: The adults feed on the leaves and flowers of broad-leaved trees. Larvae on the roots of various species of grass.
