DISTRIBUTION: This beetle is fairly common and found in most parts of Britain. The adults vary in colour from yellowish, to yellowish brown through to reddish brown.

 

 

LENGTH: 12mm to 22mm.                                         STATUS: Resident.

     

FLIGHT PERIOD: May through to July.                LARVAL PERIOD: No data.

 

HABITAT: They inhabit woodland , hedgerows and gardens with suitably rotting wood.

 

FOOD PLANT/S: Rotted and decaying wood.
