DISTRIBUTION: This beetle is very common throughout most of the British Isles.

 

LENGTH: 9mm to 11mm                             STATUS: Resident.

     

FLIGHT PERIOD: This species is around in July and August.

LARVAL PERIOD: No data.

HABITAT: These beetles are usually seen on flowers, especially umbellifers. As such they inhabit open flowery places such as gardens, parks, meadows, grass verges and other flowery places.

FOOD Source: These beetles eat other small insects, as well as pollen and nectar.
