DISTRIBUTION: This moth is widespread and fairly common in England and Wales, with the exception of the far north of England where it is very localised. It is possibly a resident in southern Scotland, and although the species has been recorded in Ireland, these records are doubtful .

 

WING SPAN: 24 to 28mm.                                   STATUS: Resident.

 

FLIGHT PERIOD: June and July                .         LARVAL PERIOD: August to early October..

 

HABITAT: Woodland, fenland, orchards, parks, gardens and other bushy places where the food plants grow.

 

FOOD PLANT/S: a wide variety of tree's and shrubs including Hawthorn, Blackthorn, Sallow, wild Rose, Apple, Pear, Plum and probably other kinds of tree's.
